Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log a meal?

Tap the mic on the Today tab and say what you ate — for example, "I had oatmeal with berries and a black coffee." SpeakCal extracts the foods, finds nutrition data, and adds them to your log.

Does it need an internet connection?

Voice transcription happens on-device (no internet needed for that). Nutrition lookup and AI food extraction require a connection. Viewing already-logged meals works fully offline.

Where is my data stored?

Your meals, symptoms, and notes are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → SpeakCal. You can cancel or change your plan there. Refunds are handled by Apple.

How do I connect Apple Health?

Open SpeakCal → Settings → Connect Apple Health and grant permission. SpeakCal will write your meals as nutrition entries to HealthKit.

How do I delete my account?

Inside the app go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Or email hello@speakcal.app with subject "Delete my account."
